“What Is A Dysfunctional Relationship” with Trey Malicoat
The word “dysfunction” means “abnormal or unhealthy interpersonal behavior or interaction within a group” according to the dictionary. When we are living within a dysfunctional relationship, it is stressful on so many levels and can impact your emotional and physical well-being.
Connecting with other people is a basic human need, and yet, many of our connections are simply not healthy leading to long term problems. So how do you know if you are in a healthy relationship? Understanding that it takes two to build a healthy bond is basic. If you see each other as equals and have no difficulty arriving at compromises, then you are definitely on the right path. Showing consideration for one another’s feelings and overall well-being allows for the partnership to grow because you are building trust in each other.
Trey helps listeners on today’s program understand no-one has probably ever had the “perfect” childhood. We are who we are today because of our childhood environment, but, it’s equally important to recognize that any dysfunction we may have experienced doesn’t determine our destiny. We become who we are because of the choices we make. This also means we have to take responsibility for who we are.
By listening to this interview you will find out how to live a life that is both rewarding and filled with joy.
