Wikipedia defines shamanism as a “practice that involves a practitioner reaching altered states of consciousness in order to perceive and interact with what they believe to be a spirit world and channel these transcendental energies into this world”. Modern day shamans stand without fear against the very forces that constantly erode our human spirit.
Shamanic healing means the shaman works with “spirits” to help repair a person on a physical and spiritual level. In reality, each of us goes on a “shamanic journey” when we go to sleep each night. Interestingly, we also leave our bodies when we experience trauma. Shamanic training teaches us how to leave our body at will.
