Kristin helps us understand the concept of “Mindful Living” in today’s show. She shares how consciousness, compassion, clarity, collaboration and contribution have all worked together to bring about her “mindful life” and how these principles can also benefit you.
We all possess the ability to be “mindful” but with our busy lives, it seldom happens. Rather, we tend to be overwhelmed with what is occurring around us. Interestingly, research is now showing us that when we train our brains to be in the moment, we are actually “remodeling” the structure of our brain. In fact, when we do wake up the inner workings of our mental, emotional and physical aspects, we achieve this state of mindfulness.
Jon Kabat-Zinn who was the creator of the ”Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction” program (MBSR) has explained that mindfulness actually lights up parts of our brain that aren’t normally activated in our daily “run around” life. By becoming “present” through our breathing and focus, our lives become richer and more rewarding. As Jon Kabat-Zinn has stated, “mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.”
I believe Kristin helps those listening to today’s show see the benefits of incorporating “mindfulness” into their daily lives with the goal of achieving a calmer, healthier and more centered lifestyle.
