How are decisions regarding road projects, bridge repairs, schools and hospitals, parks, shoreline rehabilitation and other important areas of our life being made. How does the media influence the options that are being considered? Sometimes there is not a fair arbiter or an unbiased news source providing the background for these decisions.
Keith Long, a Harvard Nieman Foundation Scholar, is my guest on today’s show and he explains how it is up to the consumer of our news today to do their homework and compare the various sources to find the “real truth”.
Today we also discuss a new book called Democracy of Dollars by Richard Jacobs which is now available on Amazon. It examines “how natural and constitutional rights often go to the highest bidder”.
