Mark Twain stated that “Writing is easy. All you have to do is cross out the wrong words”.
Jim Lee has written two books now and numerous articles for magazines and newspapers. He explains on this show some of the basic things all writers have to do in order to get their book completed and to a publisher.
First, the writer needs to decide what he/she wants to share with the reader. Writing a table of contents will help you define your message into a beginning, middle and end.
Second, it’s important to schedule time to write every day. You can certainly take a day off but having a scheduled time to write each day helps you reach your objective of finishing the book.
Third, joining a writer’s group where getting “feedback” is beneficial. Honest critiquing from other writers may provide insight and help your book head in the right direction.
