Anxiety The Silent Destroyer with Carla Royal

Anxiety is defined as your body’s natural response to stress.  “It’s a feeling of fear or apprehension about what is to come.”  Anxiety triggers what is called the “fight or flight” syndrome which releases chemicals and hormones like adrenaline and cortisol into our systems.

Anxiety disorders affect over 40 million people in the United States and are the most common group of mental illnesses in our country.  However, only about 37% of people who have this condition receive any type of treatment for it.

Carla explains on today’s show the symptoms of an anxiety disorder and what types of treatments are available to help manage the various types of anxiety.
