Women, Witches and Crones with Kristin Geeslin

How does the dictionary define a “witch”?  It states a witch is “a woman thought to have magic powers, especially evil ones, popularly depicted as wearing a black cloak and pointed hat and flying on a broomstick”.  A “crone” is depicted as an older woman who often had magical or supernatural powers that could be seen as constructive or obstructing in nature.  She might also be seen as a “wise woman”.

Today’s program looks at this topic in a different light by helping listeners understand that witches and crones are also keepers of knowledge.  This may be wisdom of different topics such as nature, healing, animals, and certainly years of acquired learning through simply being alive.

Kristin uses her knowledge and training to help us explore this area of folklore as it applies to life today.
